Colour me impressed. Dylan (Drew Barrymore), Natalie (Cameron Diaz), and Alex (Lucy Liu) have swiped a truck. They’re hurtling over a bridge when a tank at one end fires a round their way while a soldier fires a hand-held rocket from the other. The truck swerves off the bridge to avoid the assault and Natalie scampers out of the truck to uncover a helicopter from the truck bed. The other two leap from the truck and freefall grabbing the copter’s struts. Natalie cranks up the bird and all three escape with nary a chipped nail.

Every so often you run across some bit/stunt in a movie that gets you chortling. In this one, it is Max Daniels as the hapless gardener who pops up from time to time dangling from a tree, stepping on a rake, hosing down a lawn from the waist, etc.

One day you answer the phone and the caller says she has been kidnapped. How do you handle it? Do you figure it is a prank and hang up despite the caller’s pleadings? Or do you play along figuring it is a buddy who needs to be taught a less? Ryan (Chris Evans), a college student, soon disccovers that he doesn’t know Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger), a biology teacher who is kidnapped by Ethan Greer (Jason Statham), it isn’t a prank and he’s up to his ears in danger while trying to figure out how to save her.

A dominant forthright woman is something to be feared and admired as many men know. She can be a force of natures, secure in herself and beholden to nobody. Alex Munday (Lucy Liu) is just such a woman and she send quivers of delight and anticipation through a group of admiring men during her seminar. Look out lads, you’ll probably get more than you bargain for.

Have you ever made a bet that changes your life? Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) is offered a wager by Kathryn Merteuil (Sarah Michelle Gellar), his step-sister, that he cannot bed the virginal daughter of their private high school’s new headmaster, Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon). If Sebastian fails to lure Annette into bed before the summer is over, Kathryn gets his prized car. If he succeeds, Sebastian gets Kathryn. Little do they realize that Annette is made of stronger stuff than either realize.
