K-911

I’ve never had a dog. People who have one tell me there is a lot to do to maintain their health and well-being. But I don’t think that is the whole story. Dooley (James Belushi) has been teamed up with Jerry Lee (Mac) for about 10 years now and he brushes the dog’s teeth (but no flossing), gives his breath spray and cleans out his ears. Is this really part of the ritual? I sure hope not.

Keeping Mum

We all have our own way of seeing things. One person’s distraction is another’s obsession. It doesn’t take much to push our opinions from disinterest to keen focus. Such is the case for Grace (Maggie Smith) after casually answering her employer’s phone. It’s Lance (Patrick Swayze) calling to offer suggestions on what he is planning for Gloria Goodfellow (Kristin Scott Thomas) once she leaves her husband. It involves coconut cream, tongues and other body parts. Grace thinks it is lovely but Lance should know that she was once incarcerated in an asylum for the criminally insane for murder.

Kinky Boots

When you’ve been an odd lad for most of your adult life, shunned by your family, ostracized by your neighbours, slagged by people on the street, it is always a surprise when you encounter someone who doesn’t care, treats you like just another person and doesn’t seem to notice how different you are. Lola (Chiwetel Ejiofor) takes a bed-sit and the landlady,Mrs. Cobb (Gwenllian Davies), doesn’t seem to notice him in drag or not until one day she asks if he is a man so she’ll know whether to leave the toilet seat up.

Keeping Up with the Steins

It’s easy to lose sight of what’s important when trying to keep up with what is going on around you, particularly when you live in a neighbourhood that has made an art of oneupmanship. Adam Fiedler (Jeremy Piven) is traumatized to learn what his former business partner Arnie Stein (Larry Miller) has done for his son’s bar mitzvah—a Titanic theme aboard an ocean liner—and frets constantly over how he can best this half million dollar extravaganza. His son Ben (Daryl Sabara) reminds him what’s important in life like his family, his faith and providing him with a role model he can admire.

Kettle of Fish

How much are you willing to compromise? After getting kicked out of his girl friend’s apartment, Mel (Matthew Modine) wants his back from a sub-let. Ginger (Gina Gershon), her of the spotty English accent, is now firmly ensconced in it. She’s willing to let him back in subject to some restrictions. Just to be fair, Mel has a few of his own. It’s awkward but at least he has a roof over his head.
