I don’t know how you felt watching this movie. Despite the thin plot, I found myself thinking these folks can’t get much cooler than this. Even when Tess Ocean (Julia Roberts) is cajoled into playing Julia Roberts to let the gang gain entrance to the museum. It all seems to be working until Bruce Willis (as himself) shows up and things begin to go awry. Then Isabel Lahiri (Catherine Zeta-Jones) reveals that she has been in contact with the real Julia Roberts who is running late for another appointment. Oops…

Losing a spouse is an agony beyond words. Robert Burns (Steven Seagal) in on an archaeological dig when a drug smuggling ring plants a batch of drugs and calls the police. Trying to outrun them, they fire upon his car, killing his wife Maya (Kata Dobó) with slow motion bullets, prolonging the anguish for him. Vengeance will follow.

Charm can go a long way. Even in the most serious situation, the presence of a charmer can ease the tension and make things better. So thinks the bank teller when Jack Foley (George Clooney) bluffs a robbery by saying that another customer has a gun and will shoot the assistant manager (who is actually discussing a bank loan). With a small smile, he whispers to the teller that she is doing fine after asking if it her first robbery. She is terrified but is gamely playing along.

Do you ever wonder if some of these actors are as smart as they appear in the movies and on TV? Or are they as dumb as a bag of rocks? I’d imagine it is somewhere in between. However, when Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt) is picking up a few bucks by tutoring some actors in the rules of poker, you hope that Barry Watson, Shane West, Holly Marie Combs, Topher Grace and Joshua Jackson are smarter than how they come across.
