Smokin' Aces

Isn’t life grand? Sometimes you meet to person of your dreams in the most unlikely places. Georgia Sykes (Alicia Keys) disguises herself as a working girl in order to complete a hit. Her partner is ensconced in a hotel room down the street looking down the scope of a massive rifle that fires bullets the size of Cuban cigars. It all goes awry and she gets shot while trying to clip her mark. In a frantic attempt to escape for the others trying to complete the same murder, she is aided by a disgraced bodyguard who ends up carrying her in his arms down the hotel stairwell, all the while making goo-goo eyes at one another.

Saving Face

I remember when I felt turned inside out at the prospect of telling my parents something I thought to be so serious that I didn’t know how to approach them. While I dithered trying to figure out an approach, little did I know they would take it with grace and helped me to figure out a solution. My life didn’t come to an end. Wilhelmina (Michelle Krusiec) is in such a pickle. She has a sparkling new romance with Vivian Shing (Lynn Chen), a ballet dancer and her boss’s daughter. In a neighbourhood not known for its gay leanings, she know she has to tell Ma (Joan Chen). Unfortunately for Wil, her situation pales in comparison to Ma who has gone and gotten knocked up and Grandpa (Jin Wang) and Grandma (Guang Lan Koh) are none to pleased, having booted her out on the street.

Scoop

If you’re going to kill someone, you really should make sure that your victim is a corpse when you call it in as an accident. It is so embarrassing when the police find them hale and hearty. Peter Lyman (Hugh Jackman) takes Sondra Pransky (Scarlett Johansson) out for a pleasant afternoon excursion on his lake and, thinking her a non-swimmer, drops her in the drink and sets it up as if she went out alone. Distraught, he calls the local constabulary and tells them that she wanted some time away. Unfortunately for him, Sondra wanders in, soaked to the skin, adding that she feigned her inability to swim to meet Peter.

The Sweetest Thing

Why do women go to the ladies room together? One answer is to fondle one another or, at least, that’s what two lads think as they spy upon Courtney Rockcliffe (Christina Applegate) squeezing her breasts, while another occupant wonders whether they are real, egged on by Christina (Cameron Diaz).
