Runaway Jury

What length will you go to achieve your goal? Nick Easter (John Cusack) is finding out. He and Marlee (Rachel Weisz) are meeting clandestinely in a church to plot their jury tampering plan but things are amiss. His apartment has been burned out; one juror, Eddie Weese (Guy Torry) is threatened with exposure to his church and family of his HIV status; Rikki Coleman (Rhoda Griffis) is suicidal over excepting that her family will be told of her abortion and the husband of Millie Dupree (Rusty Schwimmer) has been arrested for attempted bribery. Can their middle hold or will their plan cost more than they will gain?

Finding Nemo

The father-son dynamic is a tricky one. Growing up, your dad was the incarnation of Superman. As time passes, that image tarnishes as you realize his superpowers aren’t quite what you thought them to be. Until you figure out he is just a guy trying to do his best by you. Through these years, dad wants you safe and not to suffer the vagaries of life that he did. Trying to find a balance between both of you is the toughest bit in order to end up with mutual respect and admiration. Often there is a hiccup or two along the way. Just ask Marlin (voice of Albert Brooks) who grips the controls a smidge tightly until his son Nemo (voice of Alexander Gould) feels suffocated and starts to rebel and is caught up in the net of pet shop tropical fish collector. Marlin gird up his fishy loins and takes off into unknown waters to find his son.

My Name Is Modesty

Everybody needs a teacher. It can be for something as simple as tying your show laces or as complex as organizing a concert. It isn’t as if knowledge comes full blown into our heads. The old homily of giving somebody a fish versus teaching them how to catch their own applies. Modesty Blaise (Alexandra Staden), as a child, is on the run after escaping the camp with her companion, Professor Lob (Fred Pearson), an ex-college educator from Zagreb, questions the need for his books. She foolishly suggests that she knows everything she needs.

Underworld

Have you ever met someone with whom you are certain that you’ll be with forever? Nope, neither have I. But watch Selene (Kate Beckinsale) step of that balcony in the rain, clad in that long leather coat and those thigh high buckle-up boots and land with such ease, walking away with grace and you’ll be sure she is the one. Mind you the vampire thing might be something of a problem.
