Rollerball

What alternative is there when you discover your sport is being rigged? Aurora (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) finds that TV coverage is being set up to film what are thought to be accidents. It takes a while to convince her teammates that something nefarious is going on and that what are thought to be accidental deaths are murder for the TV ratings. But it is soon becomes apparent that she, along with the others, are slated to be just another tragedy unless they can convince the viewers that a revolution is in order.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Coolest escape ever? It could be when Alice (Milla Jovovich) is chased by Nemesis (Matthew Taylor) and she barrels through a window, slips into the offices and finds herself stranded in a blind hallway. Without hesitating, she bullets a hole in the wall, slides onto her back with guns blazing backwards over her head to slow down Nemesis, hurtles into an air shaft, slides down into a basement, tips over a dumpster just before an explosive round detonates in the shaft.

Romancing the Stone

We all dream about running off to exotic climes to participate in high adventure with shady characters who turn out to have hearts of gold. Not many of us make it to the airport let alone plan what to pack. But it keeps us sane when our day takes a turn for the worse like getting splashed by a bus or being cut off by a marauding speeder on the freeway. But it is worth continuing to dream those dreams. Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner) is one of those dreamy folks who happens to find herself in Columbia to ransom her sister and literally runs into a profiteering soldier of fortune, Jack Colton (Michael Douglas). While trying to get back to civilization, a misstep sends them both careening down the mud-soaked side of a mountain ending up with Jack’s face ending up planted in Joan’s crotch.

Razor Blade Smile

Is there such a thing as overkill? Our vamp Lilith (Eileen Daley) sucks the life out of her victim and then pops him three times with her pistol. But then she is part assassin. But her escape is impeded by two tennis-playing bodyguards. With a vague aim, she fire off a couple of rounds missing each one. I guess she is a short-range assassin.
