Walking Tall: The Payback

Sneaky, creepy guys bluster and chatter like squirrels and they have a predilection for going after the girls. Harvey Morris (A.J. Buckley) and his two buddies arrive at Crystal Martin’s (Jennifer Sipes) trailer eager to punish her for talking to the good guys about a secret council meeting. They try intimidation and move on to rape to show how manly they are.

If you are Bobby “Bats” Batton (Tom Sizemore), the feds and witness protection. A Walk to Remember

One teenage summer, I met someone who I thought wanted to be my friend. She proved only to want something I had that she didn’t. Landon Carter (Shane West) knocks on Jamie Sullivan’s (Mandy Moore) door after blowing her off in front of his friends earlier in the day. Whatever his purpose, Jamie interrupts and suggests that they could be secret friends. In his stupidity, Landon grabs hold of the idea with both hands, lights up and says that he thinks it a swell idea. Jamie looks him in the eye and suggest he try telepathy to read what she things of the plan as she slams the door in his face. I wish I had had Jamie’s indignance when I capitulated lo those many years ago. My choice still sends a shudder whenever I recall it.

Waiting

I learned at an early age not to send anything back to a restaurant kitchen. You know that they will do something to muck up your meal. And you’ll never know what it is. You’ll wonder if the put something in it, on it or made a substitution. Just watch what happens to the meal sent back by a cranky patron. They add gravy (boogers) and garlic salt (dandruff) to the steak to supplement the taste delight in store for the complainant. She’s happy to dig right in.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit

A private eye always has to do things they’d rather not have to do. But this is their burden. Solving mysteries in other people’s lives and ignoring the ones in their own. Private dick Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) is not a fan of Toons since his brother was killed by one of their falling pianos. But he agrees reluctantly to clear Roger Rabbit who was framed for the murder of human nightclub owner Marvin Acme (Stubby Kaye). He thinks that the culprit may be Roger’s wife, Jessica Rabbit (speaking voice of Kathleen Turner, singing voice of Amy Irving), who is a torch singer in Toontown. But she is able to convince him of her innocence (“I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.”) and suggest he look at Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd).
